This past couple of months, I've been branching out into an area that I've been keen to get exerience in for years, and that's shooting portraits in the studio.  My day job, as some of you may know, involves working in video, so the lighting that I have access to is constant light rather than flash heads, and so my studio portraits are done using constant light. Varx44 is no more!  deviantArt has published the news that our 'domain' names can be changed, so I'm now finally able to change away from the 'team name and number that I no longer play for' name that I foolishly chose when signing up here all those years ago. So, without fanfare or a parade, I am fairly pleased to consolidate my public profiles and bring my deviantArt page under the RG Allan Photography banner!

I stepped down as the Match Night Director of Manchester Phoenix at the end of the last hockey season, and this year I've been enjoying watching the games from my seat in the crowd.  But being me, I just can't sit there and do nothing, so I've been practicing shooting the games with my camera!
